Feliz Nogidad is a holiday eggnog that opens with a rich and luxurious texture, thanks to its classic base of eggs, milk, and cream. The dairy foundation provides a naturally silky mouthfeel and gentle sweetness, perfectly balancing the spirited warmth of the alcohols.

Añejo tequila offers lush vanilla, warm caramel, and a ribbon of cinnamon. At the same time, Amontillado sherry adds its signature Brazil nut and hazelnut richness, accented by stewed fruit and a touch of sea salt complexity that elevates the finish.

A dusting of freshly grated nutmeg crowns each cup, adding a bright, aromatic lift—a fragrant top note that cuts through the creaminess and ties together the drink’s subtle spice notes, alcohol warmth, and nutty depth.

Ingredients

  • 6 Large eggs

  • 225 grams (by weight) superfine sugar

  • 8 oz Anejo Tequila (we used El Padrino De Mi Tierra)

  • 7.5 oz Amontillado sherry (we used Don Benigno)

  • 16 oz whole milk

  • 12 oz heavy cream

  • Fresh nutmeg for garnish

Directions

  • In a stand mixer (or blender) on low speed, beat eggs until smooth
  • Slowly add sugar until incorporated and dissolved
  • Slowly add tequila, sherry, milk, and cream
  • Refrigerate at least overnight
  • Serve in small (chilled) cups with a dusting of fresh nutmeg

Notes

  • Yields a little less than 1/2 gallon
  • Based on the Anejo Tequila and Amontillado Sherry Eggnog recipe found on jeffreymorgenthaler.com
